Aspen Grove and Yea for Milk!

The "yea for milk" is because this past week we started Adam on cow milk and he loves it and is doing great! May we never have to do formula again!!!
So Steve and I took our annual trip to Aspen Grove via the Student Married Retreat last weekend. It had tons (we're talking waist-high) of snow, lots of delicious food, and we invited our friends the Smiths and my brother and Brittany to come with us. We played games, went snowshoeing (a new activity this year) and of course, sledding. Adam enjoyed everything except not sleeping in his own bed-- we had 2 hours of screaming Saturday morning. However, the Smiths have a boy around Adam's age, so they had fun exploring together. We had a blast; it was so nice to get away!

Adam in his little snow pants and boots. He loved diving face-first into the snow.

Adam and his daddy the first night of sledding-- it was really cold!

Adam plays on the floor of the cabin's kitchen. He also learned how to safely go down the stairs, thanks to his uncle Michael.

We loved being up in those gorgeous mountains! Look at all the snow!

Hungry Little Genius

This just happened, and it was so cute! Adam ate breakfast and then I got out a Costco muffin for me. Adam wanted the muffin, so I gave him a bite and then put it on the kitchen counter/bar. I went to get some milk, and he complained at the gate. I asked him to stop being so fussy, and he left. There was quiet. I took my time coming out of the kitchen, and when I turned the corner, there was this cute little son, eating handfuls of muffin. He had stood on our case of cds, reached the muffin, pulled it off, and wanted to eat all he could before being caught. I just stood there, laughing, and had Steve come look. We did take it away, so now he is carefully picking crumbs out of the carpet. hehe!

What Adam's Been Up To

Ha! I was going to come up with an excuse for not posting in so long, but I decided I don't have to. Yes, these are the sort of liberties we SAHMs like to take. :)
So, last week, Adam decided he wanted to play with the vacuum cleaner. Which is fine, except he decided that he wanted to play with it on.

He got it in correctly on the second try. I was shocked and amazed, but had to take it away after he licked the plug. We really don't want any fried Adams.

And this is what happens when Adam is let into the kitchen when mommy and daddy are too preoccupied to really think about what he's doing.

Can you find Adam? He's in the corner eating an apple he found.

(And I know his eyes look a tad weird... I had to re-color them myself, since apparently MY version of Photoshop doesn't have the red-eye tool.....) ANYWAYS...

Adam also discovered the joy of dancing, and how much entertainment can be had with just a blanket, the giggles, and a low tolerance for pain... but unfortunately, to show those, I have to wait in line for my hubby's computer since it is where I am forced to do my movies... next time I get a laptop I am going to add every darn cord attachment they make! But they are very cute movies, and I promise to have them up sometime this week. Really.

So there you go, people: the week in Adam. Enjoy! And stay tuned for news on our trip this weekend and my rants on who wins the primaries tomorrow! (p.s. GO VOTE EVERYONE!!!!! IT'S SUPER TUESDAY!!!!!)

Fun with Food

This is Adam enjoying his first real spaghetti dinner.

Besides having a great time diving into the noodles, sauce, and chicken, Adam also discovered some new mealtime tricks. He stuffs his entire bib in his mouth (with it still around his neck) and gives me the twinkly-eyed look until I laugh, then he giggles hysterically through a mouth full of bib.
Then, anytime I feed him graham crackers, he takes the half cracker I give him and stuffs the whole thing in his mouth. He carefully take a bite, shoves more in, bites again, and shoves the rest. By the time I grab it to pull it out he's already biting and all I get out is a tiny piece. Then, he smacks on his cracker, all the while grinning at me and talking to me about how funny he is.
And you know what? He's right. He's darn hilarious, and I am so grateful I was sent this little baby with a sense of humor to remind me to laugh and appreciate the silly things in life.

Miracles Never Cease

I just had to blog this: the past 2 days, Adam has been going down without crying!!! We do our routine, we lay him in bed, spread his blanket over him, and let him touch the book that's in his bed (this really helps, people, and what's better than "reading" when they wake up?). He looks at us as we leave and then we don't hear a peep the rest of the night. It's the first time in a long time that bedtime is something I look forward to! I have to say, this was all worth it, though I hope it's not so hard with our next one.

A Randomly Fun Day

(And I just realized that this is my 101st post! Wow!)
Today we were enjoying Steve's day off. We had a leisurely breakfast while Adam rearranged our kitchen, and then he took two wonderful naps. Later, I was pointing out the enormous pile of snow on our deck, and Steve suddenly had the idea to go sledding (well, his parents had actually talked about it earlier). So we bundled up Adam in coat, hood, mittens, and thick pants, made him wear his tennis shoes (and, Rachel, we also had to do the baggies over his shoes) :) and took him outside. He was pretty happy to be playing in the snow for his first time. He laughed and talked as we took picture after picture.

I have the cutest husband.

Adam in his plastic-baggie shoes. Look how deep the snow is! Knee-high (on me) in some places.

Aw, we're so cute.. don't look closely though. We literally threw on what looked warm and ran outside.

Adam thinks sledding is great!

Then we headed off to a small, but very steep hill. Steve took him down several times, each time Adam looking more scared than the last. Steve went down face-first by himself, and then we called it a day. We asked Adam what he thought about sledding and he said, "WAAAHHH-aaaahhh" in his loudest voice. Wah-ah indeed; check out our video:

(Yes, I was much too scared to do that with an 11 month old.)

Then, as we were walking in the house, Steve said we should go swimming. I said it was 5:00. Dinner time. Then bedtime. Then (yea!) couple/me time. But then I thought, everyone's life needs an occasional bit of crazy*. So off we went. And of course Adam had a great time (he's a really good swimmer!), and Steve's mom even came, too. The pool was pretty cold for an indoor, so we didn't stay long, but we did manage to take some shots of Adam in his swim shorts. So cute!

So that was our crazy day. It was really fun. And Adam went down perfectly after all that sledding and swimming. The past 2 nights have been amazing... crying for 1-2 minutes tops, then not a peep until 6:30am. I had no idea that could happen. He's even stopped crying on the way to the crib, and naptimes, though not as long as they should be, are also less crying-prefaced.
So life is pretty good. I've got a perfect family, a (mostly) clean house, and the prospect of getting to bed by 10:00. I wish you all had it as good as me. :D

*This is a fabulous quote. Write it down. It's by me.

Crying it Out and Other Tales

Well, I finally did what I told myself I'd never do. I let my son cry it out. And cry it out and cry it out... the first 5 days were awful. My normally happy, enthusiastic child was depressed, would not laugh, and was so clingy I couldn't leave the room. Now, after 10 days, he's much happier, but the second you get up to take him to his crib he starts to scream, and average beginning crying is 10-15 minutes. It breaks my heart hearing him cry, not to mention missing having a snuggly baby in our bed. But I guess it has to happen to the best of us, if you have a stubborn baby who wants to sleep on his own terms.

And it's been a while, so sit back and relax while I regale you with current stories.

Adam has been trying to run for a while, and he's getting pretty good. He can't corner well, but he can sure escape when we're playing chase (which he LOVES... giggles and giggles as he tries to get away!). He's also taken an interest in climbing... so far he can get on our couch and on the rocking ottoman (I was impressed) by himself. Which brings me to...

Adam's decided to start terrible two-ing a little early. As of yesterday, when he can't do something (like climb on the green chair) or I take something away, he has a fit. A red-faced, gritted-teeth screaming fit. As funny as it is, it's really not funny. We'll have to get a video of it sometime.

He's also taken an enormous interest in books. The first thing he goes to in the morning is his book basket. He brings me books to read to him. He "reads" them on the furniture, lying down on the floor, even cuddled up in his Dinosaur (see Christmas blog), which he thinks is a little seat just for him. He lounges with his arm draped over its head while he reads. It's heartwarming, since I love books.

Here he lounges, not with a book, but with his beloved cheese grater.

His words are getting more understandable. He calls me "mama" and Steve "baba" (only once did he actually say "dada"), and several times he's given us hugs and said "I ove you". Melt, melt. He's said a few other words, too.

Recently, at church, he's gotten these giggling fits. It usually happens during sacrament meeting, but today it was during Sunday School.
We made a little corner corral by strategically placing chairs at the end of our row. It worked pretty well; we were actually able to make comments.

He also likes bubble baths, we discovered. He leans over to eat the bubbles and comes up with a perfect little beard and mustache. Today we accidentally used normal bubble bath instead of the baby kind, and there were mountains of bubbles! He thoroughly enjoyed himself.

He's also really, really good at figuring out how to do things. It is never safe to assume something is a) closed too tightly to be opened, b) out of his reach, or c) an impossible puzzle that he will tire of and leave alone. There is always a way and he will find it!

And that's just a few of the things that have been going on. I know it's been a while, but I no longer have time to myself with Steve back in school and Adam not sleeping very long during the day. He may be sleeping more at night, but he is sleeping a lot less during the day. I'm still not convinced that crying it out is beneficial. We'll give it another week.

One last funny thing from Steve: I was trying to figure out what dinner to make and how much since I signed up to bring it to two families. I said aloud, "So two people get dinner tonight...." and Steve raised his hand and said, "Me! Can I be one of those two people?" I just laughed. I meant, besides the three of us... :)

Oh, and here's one more thing Adam learned how to do. I think the picture explains itself.

first blog of the year

Happy 2008, everyone! Many exciting things are happening this year! Elections (which we're following faithfully; the New Hampshire vote could be a real nail-biter!), Adam's first birthday (nope, still can't believe it), Steve's graduation (finally!), our big move to Seattle (yea!), and I'm sure many other great things.
And, in the mindset of Great Things, here is a Rare Thing: the entire Ivie family together in one photo. Yep, that's all 33 of us. And it probably won't happen for another 5 years. :)

Well, off you go, now. Go write some goals for this crisp and clean, brand-spanking-new year!

Merry Christmas, all!!!

We slept in to the glorious hour of 9:30am, when I got up and reveled in my very first white Christmas. Isn't it beautiful?

Adam explored what Santa brought (some books, bath toys, and the Drop 'n' Roar Dinosaur) while Steve and I exchanged gifts. He got a shopping trip and a new wallet; I got a planner, chocolate, and an Intuition set. We also gave Adam several books and toys, including a play cell phone, on our trip to keep him occupied on the plane.

Adam plays with his new toys.

Adam claps for his new toys. If you say "Yea, Adam!" he'll start clapping. He even makes clapping sounds now, it's so cute.

We let Adam play for a while, then all got dressed and went to Steve's parents' house to exchange gifts. I called my mom and grandmother, wishing them Merry Christmas. Debbie and Travis came over with their daughter Arianna, and we talked with them for a bit. Then, as Steve and Adam were feeling crummy and I was still recovering, we rented 5 movies from Redbox and went home to hang out. We sat on the floor watching movies, and Adam looked at his new books beside us, between sessions of climbing all over us while we tickled him. It was so cute and cozy, just cuddling with my family under the soft glow of the Christmas tree. It's a memory I will treasure for a lifetime. And after all, that's what's really important at Christmas anyway: being together and giving the Savior the gift of love: to Him, to His Father, and to all our brothers and sisters on earth. I hope each of you were able to find moments like this to treasure this Christmas.

Now, start working on those New Year's resolutions! :)

Michael and Brittany's Wedding

As most of you know, Steve, Adam, my mom, and I just flew out to Atlanta for my brother's wedding on Saturday. It was beautiful! They are so happy together, and it was so amazing to see my brother make the same covenants that I made almost 4 years ago. And we just think the world of Brittany, so we're very happy she's officially in the family. Their reception was also gorgeous, with the red and white theme echoed in the table setups, the favors, and the chairs. White lights were strung everywhere. They did several dances to tear-jerking songs (especially the father-daughter, mother-son songs), talked to everyone, did the cake, and the bouquet, and one final dance, and then they were gone: two beautiful, fresh, clean people with a happy glow and a promise of eternal happiness. Yes, I cried through the whoooole thing. :)
And of course, traveling that far with a baby had its share of experiences. On the way there, the plane was crowded and we were in literally the last row at the back of the plane. But Adam was as good as gold, letting us play with him on our laps, taking a nap, and finally, letting me carry him around to "stretch his legs" as much as we could. We got our rental car and headed to the hotel (GA freeways are crazy!). He slept pretty well, even though the dry air on the plane caused his little face and neck to break out. We went to the wedding, and had to leave him in the temple annex with Brittany's grandparents. He cried the whole time (which we did not expect) and, once reunited with us, would bawl if we even acted like we were going to put him down the rest of the day. A very dear family friend came to the wedding and he kindly took all of us out to lunch. We met a very nice guy when we helped him with his broken-down car, and then went off to the reception. We got lost on the way back, and I got really sick.
Sunday found me even worse, so we didn't make it to church, but we did get to watch the different churches of the areas' Christmas broadcasts. And Adam came down with a raspy cough and sore throat.
Monday, we hung out at the Wal-Mart together to kill time and then headed to the airport. There was almost no one flying on Christmas Eve. Our gate was changed, so we trooped through the airport and then let Adam run around for a few hours. Our plane finally left at 9pm, and through the hand of Heavenly Father we were flying a half-full flight. We got a row to ourselves, (as did my mom) and Adam was able to sleep between us for part of the time. He was feeling a lot worse. Steve, bless him, had to go find and clean all the snow off our car, drive it back, and then load the luggage while I strapped in Adam. Then he had to drive for 2 hours on the slippery, snowy roads all the way home. He is the most selfless, amazing man. We all got home safely and Steve had caught what Adam has.
Santa came, and then we all went to bed.

This is actually Adam last week, but it's how he WOULD have looked, had we gotten pics on the plane. It's sad how a baby can be so distracting and time-consuming that a camera can not come out once during an entire trip...

(Almost) Christmas!

Yesterday, my mom hosted my side of the family's Christmas dinner, since we will be flying back on Christmas Eve and my brother and his (then) new wife will be gone until January. So, we got to stuff ourselves silly with a fabulous Christmas feast, then exchange presents and watch Christmas movies made by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints * on the projector. It was really, really fun. My mom gave us a cute little FHE plate, and we gave her 6 months of Blockbuster online. Michael and Brittany gave us each a game: we got Set (my fave) and The Great Dalmuti (since we already love Scum). We gave them a future trip to Seattle and a painted board with "Families Are Forever" on it. And Adam thoroughly enjoyed getting two presents that make lots and lots of noise!

My mom got him the cutest little train with 3 animals that runs by itself and sings about zoo animals. Adam loves it, and we're secretly glad it's a toy that stays at Grandmother's house!

Michael and Brittany gave him this contraption that shoots balls out the top and then around through itself again. It's very loud, and Adam thinks it's fun to chase the balls and try to shove them back down the exit tube.

This one is cool because we caught the ball in midair.

We had a really fun time, and it made me more excited for the real Christmas to come. I've been doing an advent calendar with Adam every morning that talks about the life of Jesus Christ, and it's made the season a lot more meaningful to me. I'm so grateful that we've been blessed with a choice little spirit to teach the gospel to, and to help understand why Christmas is so special. I just love this time of year. Merry Christmas, everyone!

It's been a long time, sorry!
I only have time for a quick update: I took Adam to the Monte Bean Museum at BYU and he had a good time looking at all the different animals. We went with my ward's Mom and Me group. We also have been busy with various holiday gathering (all very fun and exciting), plus Steve has been going MAD with end-of-semester projects, work, and finals. But the end is in sight next week.
We also decided to start a few Christmas traditions this year. The first one is to read The Best Christmas Pageant Ever every year; we both love that story! The second one is to do a picture of our kids in front of a Christmas tree every year. We're still working on that with Adam.
And one short, cute story: Adam got his first bubble bath the other day. He tried to eat the bubbles. It was even funnier because by eating the bubbles, he gave himself a perfect little beard and mustache. It was really cute!
And we found out that he really likes pistachio pudding. (sigh)

Books, Snow, and Balloons

There's that beautiful boy of mine. :)
Last night Steve brought me home an "I Love You" balloon (I know, he's the best!) and Adam thinks it is the greatest thing ever. He's been bopping it around all day, and wouldn't even let go to eat:

In other news, it snowed a TON today... judging by the buildup on our balcony I would say we got about 8 inches here, and who knows what in Provo. I heard that the skiers are very happy, it being all dry and powdery snow. Except in Orem it really is more mushy because it's a bit warmer down here.
And, as a final random note (I'm really tired right now) I just finished reading the most awesome book series ever, the Uglies series (thanks to Bonnie who let me borrow them). I did have a small problem with the ending of the trilogy. So I went to the author's website and he just finished a fourth book, but it's not really about the previous main character. So I plan to email him my plot idea for book 5 that would fix what happened in book 3. :) Or maybe I'll just write it myself-- it wouldn't be authentic, though, so it would still bother me. Anyway, if you get a chance to read the series, you should. They're intense, but pretty fast reading. I read them in about 24 hours, mainly because little Adam played by himself most of the day... and yes, I felt awful and I've tried to make it up to him since. He didn't mind, though, until it got to be evening. He;s usually pretty clingy at night.
And I was going to change the background color of my blog, but they don't have a nice enough navy blue. I'm not the biggest fan of gray, but my colors need to be dark so my scheme works. I'm just not ready to totally overhaul my blog yet. Maybe over the break...
And I think that's everything on my mind, so I am going to bed!

The Walking Movie

This one is for you, Grandmother. I sure wish you were here to see Adam taking off!

I love how it ends with Adam running to his daddy. He and Steve are two of a kind.
So Happy Wednesday, everyone! Only 17 more days for you, Michael and Brittany, and only 20 more days until Christmas!

Winter Pictures

The snow was just so pretty, Steve's parents were inspired to take some family pictures of us. And I'm so glad they did! Though it is hard to get a good picture of a baby who is cold and very tired of someone holding him, as we had just gotten back from church.

This one was taken inside... it's actually a very good picture, the best one of us in the bunch, so OF COURSE it had to be the one that cut off part of Steve... *sigh* I guess no picture can ever be perfect. :)
I'm kicking myself today for not taking a movie of Adam... he had on the cutest little blue outfit and has become obsessed with walking around with this giant blue duster (it's as tall as him) and tapping it on things, and dusting things, and chewing on the handle. It's really funny to watch him walk around with that thing. Hopefully he'll do it tomorrow...

Also in the news today: Steve and I got to have a date last Saturday night. The Microsoft BYU Alumni chapter hosted a "Beauty and the Geek" style activity for CS majors and their dates. The winners got an Xbox and a Zune... we won two triple play tickets to Trafalga and a $20 gift card to the movies. It was really fun answering nerd questions (for the guys, beauty questions) and talking with adults. As much as I hate leaving Adam, even with one of his grandmothers, I was really grateful for the time to connect with Steve. He really is the most fun person I have ever met, and I am so lucky to be married to him!
And other than that, not much is going on. We're getting ready for Christmas (I can't wait for "Santa" to visit Adam!) and our trip to my brother's wedding. And Steve's finals. So good luck, Steve, we know you can do it! And to those of you with nothing to do who would like to research a bit of Christmas trivia, look up "Christmas" on wikipedia-- it reveals why using "Xmas" is NOT taking Christ out of Christmas! (That makes me feel better when people use xmas.)
Anyway, to quote a good book, Good People, and good night!

Movie of the Past

This is a movie of Adam tossing his ball. He's really cute! And I will be posting some pictures tonight, too, but the movie of him walking will have to wait. So it won't be of his first steps, more like how he's walking now. But anyway, I'm sure you won't mind. :) Enjoy his athletics.

Lots of Little (Important) Stories

....Happy Belated Thanksgiving, everyone!

Y'all probably thought I had given up blogging...
Anyway, this is just a collection of random stories over the past week or so, sorry there are no pictures, but I'll get some up soon, and hopefully a video as well.

Story #1: Adam had his first candy. Now, BEFORE you start getting all judgmental about the parents of said cute 9-month-old, finish the story.
***It begin at a Christmas years ago, when I was still finding silly presents to go with Steve's love of chickens. I found this little plastic candy-filled stick with a chicken on top that crashed cymbals when you pushed a button. It was a cheap toy, but funny, and somehow it got saved and made it all the way to our current place.
Enter one curious baby.
Who liked the chicken, and especially the fact that the candy rattled around (very small, beady candies).
Add one mom who doesn't think the lid will come off, it being screwed tightly, who talks to her husband while letting her son play with the chicken.
Imagine a moment devoid of incessant rattling... ***
Yeah. I looked down to see a very, VERY happy baby mouthing something, tons of little tiny candies spread around him. I smelled his breath... yep, fruity. He definitely ate some. And he was not happy to see me pick them up. The saddest part was, he spent the rest of the day licking the inside of the plastic stick the candies were in.
All in all, it was actually pretty funny. We like to shock people by saying that Adam had his first candy. :)

Story #2: Our friend held a birthday party for his wife at Chuck-E-Cheese just for fun, so Adam got to go for the first time. He enjoyed pushing his own stroller around, crawling behind the machines looking for power cords, and lifting small basketballs out of one of the games to play with on his own terms. A good time was had by all.

Story #3: Thanksgiving. We went to Steve's sister Bonnie's house, and there was quite the family gathering. All siblings except two, plus his parents, and everyone's kids, and a friend Steve brought from work. It was fun, though Adam fell asleep during his introduction to turkey, and then had over-excitement issues several times, poor guy. He also pushed his 20 lb. cousin around in our umbrella stroller. (We got a movie of it, I think.) There were several cute pictures taken, including the five youngest grandchildren in the family who all happen to be blonde at the moment, yet somehow none were taken with our camera... how sad. I'll be emailing certain relatives soon.
But then we got to come home and decorate for Christmas, so it's okay.
Anyway, all these are merely anticlimactic to the REAL story:

ADAM IS OFFICIALLY A WALKER!!!!
YEA!!!!

He has worked so hard to get here, we have to give him a lot of capital letters. :)
I say "official" because now he can walk halfway the length of the living room before deciding to sit down. He can also stand up from the ground, and turn around to take a step. We are so proud of him, and so glad he's walking because he's heavy! :)
And I think that's all of our news. Thanks for sticking with me despite the blogging famine. My blog and I hope to be more substantial in the future. :)

adam update

It's been a while... sorry... I've been really busy! I like to have a gorgeous-clean house before the holidays, and, well, with a baby you can guess how long that lasts. :) But he sure is rewarding.
He has two new things he can do, so I thought I'd post 'em: he can take up to 4 steps between objects, and loves to walk into Steve's or my arms. He also likes being chased around the couch, though he usually gets so excited he falls down. The second thing is, I discovered he can drink from a cup like a grown person. I have no idea how long he's had this skill; if someone is willing to feed him, he does not attempt to feed himself. However, squeeze his little hands around a cup and step back, and he will drink perfectly. Yea. :)

Adam's Playground Adventure

So Steve introduced me to a cute little park down the street from us, next to his old elementary school. I took Adam there last Wednesday (and had every intention of posting these then, but life happens. On the plus side, I love the fact that Steve and I still stay up until 2am sometimes just talking.)

*...I just had to go comfort our little son and it was so cute... I lay down with him on the bed and he plopped his little head on my pillow and went right to sleep. He always loves a pillow...*

ANYWAY, here's a little "picstory" of our afternoon at the park. Oh, and it was sad, there was broken glass on the sidewalk and it gave my stroller a flat tire. But Steve, always the amazing hubby, came to my rescue with a can of tire-fixing foam before we went night-frisbee-ing this weekend. (So fun!)

When we got to the park, I first helped Adam go down the kiddie slide. You can see his smile peeking out from behind his nuk.

He then got to climb around on the stairs a bit.

Next, he crawled off to explore the playground. He was too busy to look up at the camera. And if you're wondering why his feet look weird, it's because his little white tennies have no treads on the bottom, so I added strips of blue duct tape.

He discovered the crawling tube, and loved playing peek-a-boo with me in it.

Then, he discovered the cool echo inside it.

And finally, we went to his favorite part, the swings. He giggled and talked and bounced in the little seat. He LOVES swings.

And then it was time to go home.

As for other news, we're enjoying making plans for moving next summer, getting ready for the holidays, and watching Adam do things that are funny and cute. Like today, he decided to play the piano with two hands and a foot. And then when I was crawling on the floor with him, he liked to be chased around a chair and almost took off walking by himself because he was so excited. And that's been our week. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the previous post was inspired by Adam's habit of audibly spitting out his nuk if he sees another one, and putting the new one in. It's really funny. He honestly believes the other one will taste better. He also does that with his bottle. There's an audible "vop" as his nuk forcefully exits his mouth to make room for the bottle.
Oh, and at church he got stuck under a folding chair. He is always trying to crawl under and through things, and he made it through the first two bars, but he couldn't get through the two bars on the other side. It was sad, but funny. :D
And one last thing: (last thing, I promise!) Adam is turning 9 months tomorrow. 9 months! That's crazy! That's 3 months shy of ONE YEAR OLD!!! Where on earth does the time go??!!

The Night of Many, Exciting Posts

So yes, you get to hear from me a THIRD time today, but it's short and sweet and all good news, I promise!
First of all, Steve officially accepted his offer from Amazon.com after interviewing in four different states and turning down five other offers. We'll be shipping off to Seattle sometime next summer, probably in July. Yea!
Second of all, Adam is slowly becoming adventurous enough to try steps on his own. Once or twice, when he could end by falling into Steve's or my arms, he did a step by himself. He is also about to pop his two front teeth on top. One little corner is poking through...
And last of all, it's more of a personal good news moment, our cute little son had a terrible tummyache this weekend because his mom fed him potatoes flavored with garlic. We were able to give him some breast milk and it calmed his tummy right down and he was able to sleep. I was SO GRATEFUL that I can still give him a little each week, and I promised not to complain again about pumping.
Anyway, I have a messy house and piles of unfolded laundry everywhere but I don't care! Tomorrow I am going to walk down the road to vote and then stay home and revel in my mess while I play with my baby!
So those of you in Utah... go out tomorrow and VOTE AGAINST REFERENDUM 1 OR ELSE YOU'LL BE DISOWNED BY STEVE AND ME!!!
And those of you not in Utah... we miss you. :)
