(Almost) Christmas!

Yesterday, my mom hosted my side of the family's Christmas dinner, since we will be flying back on Christmas Eve and my brother and his (then) new wife will be gone until January. So, we got to stuff ourselves silly with a fabulous Christmas feast, then exchange presents and watch Christmas movies made by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints * on the projector. It was really, really fun. My mom gave us a cute little FHE plate, and we gave her 6 months of Blockbuster online. Michael and Brittany gave us each a game: we got Set (my fave) and The Great Dalmuti (since we already love Scum). We gave them a future trip to Seattle and a painted board with "Families Are Forever" on it. And Adam thoroughly enjoyed getting two presents that make lots and lots of noise!

My mom got him the cutest little train with 3 animals that runs by itself and sings about zoo animals. Adam loves it, and we're secretly glad it's a toy that stays at Grandmother's house!

Michael and Brittany gave him this contraption that shoots balls out the top and then around through itself again. It's very loud, and Adam thinks it's fun to chase the balls and try to shove them back down the exit tube.

This one is cool because we caught the ball in midair.

We had a really fun time, and it made me more excited for the real Christmas to come. I've been doing an advent calendar with Adam every morning that talks about the life of Jesus Christ, and it's made the season a lot more meaningful to me. I'm so grateful that we've been blessed with a choice little spirit to teach the gospel to, and to help understand why Christmas is so special. I just love this time of year. Merry Christmas, everyone!
