that does it

If any of you have an ounce of decency left, by all means start writing letters to your congressman, the president, whatever it takes and get those blasted full-body scanners out of our airports.
The TSA has claimed that these machines are safe; if that is so, then why do all medical and dental offices use extreme caution with their X-ray machines, and lead aprons are given to cover any part of the body that does not have to be exposed to the rays? Studies on the scanners completed in 2010 (that the TSA refuses to acknowledge because they've already started placing these machines) have shown they actually can promote cancer, especially skin cancer, and are dangerous for pregnant women and children.
Let's also not forget about the privacy issue at stake. I'm offended for myself, but I am disgusted for my childrens' sake: as far as I know, child pornography is illegal is the US. But now it's okay to have their naked pictures viewed by some sicko who enjoys a job consisting of seeing naked people all day? Or they get physically assaulted (which is punishable by law except in their little security line) by some person without the education or brain cells to take any other job? I don't think so.
Police forces, military personnel, the FBI, the CIA-- these are people who are actually doing something to promote the level of safety here in America, and they still manage to treat citizens with respect. The TSA has a history of NOT catching people using their little tactics; in fact, many people are upset over the millions of dollars spent on this latest project when they have no justification-- no numbers of criminals caught to show for it. I don't know why the TSA seems to have been given a "do whatever you want" go-ahead from our government, but I plan to find out. They have gone too far in the name of "making America safe." Who cares if America is "safe" (in their opinion) if we don't have any of the rights and freedoms that were the whole point of being here?!
Sea-Tac will be getting these this fall. I can assure you we'll be driving to any and all destinations until those idiots remove them. As much as I despise the greedy tycoons who run the oil companies, I'd rather line their evil pockets than do anything to support this outrageous, indecent level of privacy raid.
