This is the saddest day ever. We went to one of the coolest museums in Seattle and I forgot our camera. I know, I almost cried when I realized that.
On the happy side, though, we got there with only 45 minutes to see everything, so it's kind of a good thing we weren't trying to get pictures or else we wouldn't have seen much at all!
We got to board the British Airways Concorde (tiny, but nice seats) and the Air Force One jet from Kennedy's era. It still had all the original (and now primitive) controls. Very cool. They had a couple other planes and even a NASA space shuttle there, too, but you couldn't board them.
Once inside the museum itself, there was a huge building with all kinds of original planes and flying contraptions. It had several made of wood, it had several that never caught on (a tiny one-person skinny plane, car planes) and it had some really famous war planes. It had an entire wing for space flights (Boeing has helped make many a space shuttle), and another whole building for the two World Wars, soldiers' stories, and the planes from those eras. We didn't get to see the WWI collection because of closing time, but the WWII section was amazing. They also had a two-story old red barn that housed the original tools, motors, and framework from the original, tiny, two-seater aeroplanes.
Overall, it was a whirlwind time and we didn't quite get to see everything, but it was awesome. Another highly recommended visit on your next trip to Seattle.
Then, this evening, Steve's recruiters took all the BYU interns out to eat at a really fancy Italian restaurant downtown, on Amazon. They even paid for our parking. It was a beautiful place, fabulous food, and we really enjoyed just being able to get out with other people. (And Adam loved getting to sit in his very own high chair. Loved it.) We're really liking how Amazon treats its people. :)
So, once again, sorry to all my blog fans, but I promise, PROMISE I will take my camera to the game tomorrow. See you then!
