Yay, it's February!

(I told you January is the fastest month of the year!) Today we decorated. We put out Valentine books and stuffed animals and other pretty accents. Then, we made pink paper hearts and decorated our glass and front doors with them. February is special to me for lots of reasons: first, because Steve and I got engaged on Valentine's Day, second, because our wonderful son was born the 13th, and third, because of how amazing it is to take a month to celebrate love and to show those you do love extra affection!
It's been a crazy weekend, culminating with my brand-new phone dying. I think it's stressing me out more than I admit, and so this morning I was feeling rather edgy. I decided to do something just for me-- I videoed our kids. Being cute, playing together, singing silly songs. Nothing groundbreaking, just a typical day in the life. I've noticed that when I take pictures, it's usually to document an event, or to blog, or to have photos for their baby books. But I video for me. Someday I will put together more clips to show them and anyone else who cares to see, but I know for the most part, those videos will be a favorite thing to watch when the kids have all left home. So when I'm having a selfish day, I video.
There. That's got to be my quota of words for the week. Pictures soon to follow! :)

You are right! Videos of when you are young are so fun to watch when you are older. Before Christmas I spent a lot of time watching family videos from about 1989 to 2002 of our family while converting the vhs tapes to digital format. It was so fun to see how we acted. It is fun to see how much our kids behaved just like us when we were younger. Take the time for YOU and video tape. You deserve that time. I need to do more of that.
