Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween this year! I know things didn't go exactly to plan for us, but we still had fun!
It's my mom's birthday, so last night we took her out to dinner and then came back for homemade cake and ice cream. Adam made her a special picture (which we were all impressed with, because he's not really into coloring right now). We gave her a gift certificate to get a manicure and pedicure today, so she can feel special on her birthday. Everyone deserves to be spoiled at least one day a year!
So, we didn't get to carve pumpkins this year... I really wanted to, I LOVE it, but people here don't seem to compute that RAIN and PUMPKINS don't mix. I got a beautiful one, only to have it rot completely a week after I bought it. We had some little ones, but it's hard to carve those impressively. That's ok, I barely got the costumes out again this year. I finished last weekend.
So, now the moment you've all been waiting for... costume pictures!!! Ta-da!!!

Adam's main costume is two different kinds of fuzzy fabric sewn in stripes, then sewn from a leotard costume pattern. I used a one-way stretch instead of two, so it was a little snug... I added snaps at the bottom so he could get into it. His headpiece and wings are from a firefly costume pattern. I bought the tights.

Steve's you may recognize from our Wymount years-- it was the first costume I made him. However, the crown is brand-new from this year, as the pattern just came out. I think it looks amazing!

And here is mine. (What is it about being 9 months pregnant and not liking your picture taken? Ugh.) Anyway, I made mine from a medieval dress pattern, minus the ties up the back, and changing it quite a bit to fit the baby in there, too. But I think it turned out nicely, and now I have a maternity costume in case I happen to be really pregnant around Halloween again.

We went to our ward's huge trunk-or-treat, and Adam loved his first trick-or-treating experience! It even stopped raining for the event, which was nice, and Adam got lots of candy. Overall, a very fun holiday. And now, dear little baby, it is YOUR turn to make the headlines! Come out come out come out!!!!

Your costumes turned out AWESOME. I'm not surprised though. Hope your little girl decides to join the outside world soon!

WOW!!!!! Adam looks adorable. And maternity costumes, especially such a beautiful dress, always come in handy. Just ask Debilore! :) Stephen's crown is amazing--I am very impressed you made that. You both look very royal.
