So Steve and I were looking up all the ridiculous documents needed, etc. to go get our Washington plates and licenses. At the very bottom of all the Rules To Be Followed If You Want To Be Allowed To Drive In Our State, there was a small section regarding German drivers. Apparently, Germany is the "only country" with a "reciprocity agreement" with Washington state. That means when Germans want to get a license, it's like they're coming from another state, rather than another country. So, basically, less red tape to get a license. Anyone else think that is weird? Why the special treatment for Germany? It leaves one to speculate wildly on the political cause for this ... very, very strange...
