Adam's Birthday Party #2

On Saturday, we planned a large birthday party for Adam, inviting all his aunts, uncles, and cousins that could come (which was all of them in Utah, 18 people). We called the Monte Bean Museum at BYU to go there, but they wouldn't do a show for us at the time we needed. So instead, we printed off scavenger hunts from their website and got prizes for all the cousins. We showed up at 3:30, all excited, and there were tables everywhere. I asked what was going on and they said that there was a huge dinner and the museum would close in half an hour. I was SO MAD! You'd think they would mention that when I asked about coming that day and time, but noooo.... so we didn't get to do any of those plans. We did, however, madly take some pictures of Adam with the animals before leaving (even though all he wanted to do was climb the stairs).

Then, we went back to Steve's parent's house and had pizza and cupcakes and all the cousins played together. So it was a fun party after all. :)

Some of the activities there included stealing pizza from other small children...

opening presents with cousins....

and, apparently, cleaning up after the party. (He got those out all by himself. It was funny, yet... sad.)

And here are most of the attendees after singing "Happy Birthday" to Adam.

And a funny (well, scary) story: Adam figured out how to open our front door, so we have to keep it locked. Well, one of us didn't lock it and as I'm washing dishes I see the door open and I run over grabbing for Adam... and there is a very surprised couple standing on the porch. They had come to buy our TV and had just happened to knock right before Adam opened the door. They thought I sent him to open it! So they thought it was cute, but I resolved to myself to always check the door anytime Adam is around... he's gotten out more than once.

My sister was 18 months and decided to go for a "walk." She packed a little bag with some swimming suits, and opened the back door, and proceeded up the block to the busiest road in our town. Luckily someone walking saw her, and brought her to the only house with big wheels in the driveway. My mother was pretty shocked with she opened the door to find strangers and my baby sister. We weren't allowed to forget to lock the chain lock ever again.

Wow! That's a dangerous new skill! I love how you left the forget-ee anonymous. :) Well, how nice that it has a happy ending. That stinks about the museum, but cute photos, nonetheless!

Your little Adam is quite a precocious little feller. If it makes you feel any better, Soren wanders around the house with a mop in hand all day long. He had a little friend over yesterday and they spent a half hour toddling around the kitchen with a broom and mop.
