On the Road Again...

So yes, we are finally on our way home! We are stopped at Steve's sister Colleen's house (we LOVE to stay with them) enjoying a two-day break before heading home.
Some highlights from our trip so far:
Two days ago, as we were driving around the miniscule town of Pendleton, Oregon, we saw a large neon sign with bold lettering. We assumed it was an old-fashioned diner, but no, as we drove closer we realized it was "Burn's Mortuary!" Your guess is as good as mine why they need a bright green-and-orange neon sign.
We took Adam swimming in the hotel pool and he had a blast.
We had to stop and buy a small fan and a spritz bottle to try and cool ourselves off in the car-- it helped a little bit, but that last drive was still pretty awful. John was nice enough to get us a car appointment the day we arrived, so hopefully they can fix our AC without us having to spend a fortune on it.
Then, yesterday, while Adam was crawling around, he stopped and pushed himeslf up higher and higher... and he sat up! All by himself, in the middle of the floor! He was VERY excited about this, and looked around happily, and played with a toy nearby, and after a minute or so, went back down and started crawling again.
He has also discovered the fun of going "ffppppppttt" all the time. It's really funny.
We put Adam in the Shaw's baby swing on their swingset outside. He was barely big enough to fit safely in it, but he sure loved swinging! He also enjoyed walking and sitting in the soft, cool grass and chasing balls.
So that's our trip so far, and we'll be home on Thursday.
