Wow.

We drove home from church today and discovered that we couldn't get to our apartment building-- there was a huge parade going on! We saw huge rainbow balloon arrangements, "women" with sparkly hair and way too much makeup, and signs for.... you guessed it, the "Seattle Pride" parade. And I really don't think I need to go into details about what sort of people have this pride. We wanted to be sure that it was actually what we thought it was, so we looked it up online, and oh yes, it was. Unfortunately for us, the parade route was moved last year to go down 4th, right in front of our building. The website on Seattle's events claimed it as one of the largest celebrations for this sort of... pride. Wow. That's all we can say, is wow. And thank heavens for apartments on the top floor, away from this stuff!

And this just in, on this series of unfortunate events, our Seattle elders, the ones we just had over for dinner, were both hit by a car that decided to swerve around stopped traffic at a crosswalk. One got hit in the head, the other mainly in the hip and was thrown. They are doing ok, but are still in the hospital. Please, please remember the missionaries everywhere in your prayers!
